Holden Beach Commissioners agree plans for a new town hall should be downsized, but they don't agree on how much and what should be cut.
Each of the five commissioners offered opinions during a workshop April 3 with the architect designing the expanded office space.
The proposed $3.9-million project would be nearly 18,000 sq ft-adding to and renovating the current town hall on Rothschild Street and constructing a new building across the street.
Commissioner Charlie Boyle said by combining the architect's first & second plans and cutting some of the proposed space, the town could save $500,000.
Commissioners Sandy Miller & Pat Sandifer argued the town could save even more money by making the new building one story tall instead of two.
